The Valley Beach

The Valley Beach was special request with complete freedom to create whatever I wanted with Arizona in mind. 

The small painting tells a large tale of how I see Arizona on a daily basis. 

First thing to welcome the viewer is the scaley little Bearded Dragon as he crawls his way towards the center of the canvas so he can view the beautiful richly colored sunset which Arizona is famous for. The Sunset is a vivid orange surrounded a bright, hot, and merciless sun as per usual during a summer evening in the 115 degree summer heat. The lizard is resting a top a turquoise painted wood bar countertop. Happily next to a Margarita which was just served up and ready to drink! 

Moving on the midground we have Sonoran cacti and Mexican fan palm trees. Both are local foliage I see on the daily basis which graces natural hiking trails and front yards alike!

In the background what seems like a beach is not quite a beach. At least not literally. One thing Phoenix residents see daily on their commute during the summer are those wavy heat waves coming off of the asphalt. At first glance you'd think the street was flooding or maybe it is a mirage. Nope. They are heat waves, and they look relatively similar to the waves of ocean. 

Lastly of course you could expect in an Arizona painting you have the mountains in the background creating a more dynamic skyline where most states have skyscrapers to create an interesting skyline.

This Painting would be my first painting on Arizona and I am very happy that not only was it well received, but that it came out so beautifully!
